Lasting Quality | A Step Above
Our Chief Puzzler, Jim Beachler, wraps up our "Step Above" series by reminding you of the craftsmanship and care that goes into each Puzzle Stool, from the type and grade of the wood used to the service we provide for every customer. Jim even shows off a 30+ year-old stool to demonstrate the quality and care we put into every stool for our Hollow Woodworks family!
See how we pay attention to even the most minor details to ensure that everything that leaves our workshop is a step above the rest!

Hi! This is Jim from Hollow Woodworks, and I want to talk to you about some more details.
Let's talk about knots. You're like "What, rope knots?" No, we're talking about wood knots.
Wood knots like this and this are unsightly, and they detract from the beauty of your stepstool and the beauty of the name that you want the people to focus on.
At Hollow Woodworks, we have no knots in our wood. We use what's called an A-Face Maple, which means there are no knots, no holes, no filters, no problems with the wood whatsoever.
And what happens is because of the quality of that wood, we have step stools, like this one here, that's over 30 years old, that came in for repairs.
We fixed it, replaced the lost pieces in there.
Using good wood and using high quality wood, to begin with, makes the product last longer.
And if it lasts longer, it becomes an heirloom.
And that's what you want this to be.
Because, again, this is not a cheap purchase, but at the same time, it's the only gift that you give that child that they will still have 20 years down the road.
